Inbound marketing is all about creating content that a potential client finds when they are looking for a solution to a problem. That content will demonstrate how your solution is the best for them and drive them into your sales funnel. Here are five tips to get inbound in 2016, or be left behind!

1. SEO– Search engine optimization is critical to ensure that you are found when that client is looking for a solution to a problem. When shaping your SEO campaign, we all know to include your company name and product names. Be sure to also include terms that people with a problem might be searching when they don’t know about your product.

2. Blogging– This allows you to post fresh content to your site regularly and increase your organic reach. When creating blog content, make sure that content is geared around your offerings. Posts about cat videos you enjoyed may be entertaining, but they will not build your client base.

3. Premium Content– Premium content is the hook that will help build your email list. You should have premium content for each product or service you offer. Great examples of premium content are white papers, webinars, check-lists, how-to’s, and demonstrations.

4. Lead Communication– This will be provided through email. It is key to know what information to send, based on what the person expressed interest in learning more about. It is the initial offer that goes with the premium content you send and should contain a call-to-action. Whether you offer a coupon code, encourage them to reach out to a sales professional, or put a “click here to buy now” button on the form will depend on your sales cycle and overhead.

5. Lead Nurturing– Most of the time, your new leads will not buy the first time. It is important to continue to nurture those leads as they decide on what they need. You need to do some testing to determine the frequency, and create content that builds value around the product they are looking for. Each lead nurturing message should contain another call to action.
